"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress
Can Be judged by the way its animals are treated"
- Mahatma Ghandi
I'm Dr. Shake Chatterjee
Small Animal Medicine & Surgery
As an only child, I've always felt a special type of kinship towards the dogs we had growing up - considering them far more than pets but rather members of the family.
After starting work at an animal hospital at the age of 16 while in high school, I decided my love for animals would also become my career. I went on to earn my Bachelor's at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign followed by my DVM at the University of Minnesota.
Practicing since 2014, some of my favorite specialties include dermatology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. I am also a firm believer in the importance of wellness visits and screenings, often using the motto 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure'.
